Esteemed Vaid Saheb
Dec 7, 2024
Today, we bid farewell to Dawud Ahmed Vaid Marhoom, a cherished elder of our community and the father of PIC Board Trustee Sadiq Vaid. In his late nineties, Dawud sahib remained a beacon of vitality—his radiant smile, spirited stride, and quiet confidence inspiring all who knew him.
Where age often brings retreat, Dawud sahib defied convention. His zest for life shone brightly, bringing joy to those around him. At our last community picnic, his recitations of Urdu poetry—laced with wit and charm—were a testament to his vibrant spirit.
A man of endearing habits, he delighted in sharing paan during tafseer sessions, a simple gesture that endeared him to many. His legacy is profound: five children, including Sadiq, 13 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren, MashaAllah.
At his Salatul Janaza, Mufti Abdul Mannan spoke movingly of his unwavering faith, recalling his determination to attend the masjid despite frailty, supported only by his walking stick.
In mourning his demise, we also celebrate a life well-lived—a life anchored in faith, compassion, and a deep love for others.
May Allah (SWT) grant Dawud sahib Jannat-ul-Firdaus and bring solace to Sadiq and his family. His legacy of grace and goodness will continue to warm our hearts.
