Funeral Coordinator Job Announcement

We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Funeral Coordinator. This position is responsible for overseeing the entire process of funeral services, including administration, operations, and mortuary duties.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• TSSR (Transfer Service Sales Representative) license from the Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) is an asset.*
• Fluent in English (Urdu communication skills are preferred).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Valid Class G Driver's License.

*If you do not possess a TSSR license, financial support will be provided to help you obtain it.

Key Responsibilities:

Administration:

• Maintain inventory of graves, supplies, caskets, and shrouds.
• Foster strong working relationships with Funeral Contractors.
• Arrange backup services for body pickups, washing, and burial.
• Communicate with cemeteries, the city for burial permits, and ODSP responsible parties.
• Ensure funeral vehicle is always ready for service and regularly maintained (oil change every six months).
• Keep all necessary documents available in the funeral vehicle.

Operations:

• Respond to calls 24/7.
• Coordinate body pickups and meetings with family members.
• Arrange for washing/bathing the body and burial with cemetery.
• Handle documentation, including receipts, burial permits, and invoices.
• Ensure Janaza prayer and burial arrangements are conducted properly.

Mortuary:

• Ensure the mortuary is stocked with necessary supplies and properly cleaned.
• Supervise staff involved in washing/bathing the body.
• Ensure the safety of all operations.
