PIC Sister's Youth Executive Team Application

Welcome to the PIC Sisters Youth  Executive Application!

Youth are an integral part of any thriving community and at the Pickering Islamic Centre (PIC), we deeply value the strength, creativity, and dedication that our youth bring. The PIC Sisters Youth Team is committed to empowering young Muslim women to lead, grow, and positively impact their communities while keeping Islam at the heart of everything we do.

Through meaningful programs and events, we aim to:

✦ Inspire a deep love for Allah (SWT) and the sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW)

✦ Foster spiritual, moral, and professional growth

✦ Build confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills

✦ Create a welcoming space where sisters can come together and have fun

With your help, we hope to continue organizing impactful initiatives that uplift our youth and our ummah.

If you're interested in joining the team the following roles are available (for ages 17-25): 

President (2)

  •  Oversees all team activities and ensures alignment with the PIC’s mission

  • Develop and implement creative programs and events for the youth 

  • Sets team goals and guides strategic planning for youth events and initiatives

  • Facilitates regular meetings and delegates tasks to team members

  • Acts as the main liaison between the youth team and the PIC leadership

  • Supports all coordinators and ensures collaboration across roles

Secretary (1)

  •  Takes detailed minutes during meetings and shares them with the team

  • Maintains team records, schedules, and documentation

  • Sends out meeting reminders and agendas 
  • Supports administrative tasks for events (i.e. registration lists, volunteer sign-ups)

Logistics Coordinators (2)

  • Works along side the Events Team to handle event set-up and tear down
  • Books venues and manages supplies
  • Coordinates volunteer roles and schedule for event days

External Communications Coordinator (2)

  •  Promotes events and initiatives via social media, email and posters
  • Designs promotional material 
  • Manages outreach and builds relationships with other organizations and individuals (i.e. guest speakers)
  • Gathers feedback from youth attendees to improve future programming

Finance Coordinator (2)

  •  Manages the budget for all youth programs and events 
  • Tracks expenses and ensures it aligns with the budget 
  • Handles fundraising efforts if needed 
  • Ensures financial transparency and proper use of funds

**All roles have an expected time commitment of 2 hours per week (may vary around program planning periods)
