Parent Council

Brock Elementary School prides itself in our dedication to maintaining close-knit relations with our students’ parents. To further this relation, we have established a parent council that operates in tandem with our governing body to ensure that our institution runs smoothly. Members are nominated and elected by parents, with no influence in nominations by the school. The council offers advice and insights to the principal and school aimed at the betterment of important aspects such as the curriculum, school activities, and student life.

Parents who are interested in running for the parent council should follow these steps:

  • A general invitation is opened up at the commencement of the school year, with positions being posted on the bulletin board at the main entrance of the Masjid.
  • Parents can look at these positions and nominate themselves. Others may also nominate to any parent they see fit.
  • The final list of nominees will be posted, and parents and the community will be given a duration of 3 weeks to vote for their preferred candidate.
  • Following the polling, the final votes will be posted, and those with the most tallies will be selected for their position.
  • If by any reason, at the end of the process a position was left open, we invite anyone to step up and volunteer to take that position without running a formal election.
