Parking Lot Traffic Controller Job Posting:

Position Overview:
We are looking for a Parking Lot Traffic Controller to ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians within our parking areas. This role involves traffic management, pedestrian safety, and maintaining order, while assisting visitors and responding to incidents. Key Responsibilities:
- Traffic Management:
- Direct and control vehicle flow to prevent congestion.
- Monitor entrances and exits to maintain order.
- Guide drivers to parking spaces or designated areas.
- Pedestrian Safety:
- Assist pedestrians crossing parking areas by directing traffic as needed.
- Ensure walkways and crossings remain clear and accessible.
- Enforcement and Assistance:
- Enforce parking rules, including designated parking zones.
- Assist visitors with parking procedures, directions, and facility information.
- Emergency Response:
- Respond to incidents like accidents or emergencies quickly.
- Coordinate with security, emergency services, and management when required.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Use two-way radios or communication devices to stay connected with the team.
- Report safety hazards, malfunctioning equipment, or rule violations to supervisors.
- Maintenance and Monitoring:
- Monitor the condition of parking lot signage, cones, and barriers.
- Set up and remove traffic cones, barricades, and signs as needed.
- Keep assigned areas clean and free from obstructions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience:
- Prior experience in traffic management or parking services is an asset.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stay calm and manage stressful situations effectively.
- Basic problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Capability to lift and move light equipment (cones, signs, etc.).
Working Conditions:
- Environment: Primarily outdoors with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Schedule:
- The work schedule will vary based on the following programs:
- Mon - Thurs: 5:20 PM to 5:40 PM / 7:25 PM to 7:50 PM
- Fridays : 5:50 PM to 6:10 PM / 8:50 PM to 9:10 PM
- Saturdays: 10:35 AM to 10:55 AM / 1:35 PM to 1:55 PM
- The work schedule will vary based on the following programs:
Additional Requirements:
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Knowledge of local traffic and safety regulations is a plus.
Compensation:
- Hourly wage: $20/hour
- Approx. 2.25 hours per week
