The Tahawiyyah - Islamic Theology (New)

Description:
Worship and devotion to Allah ﷻ is not possible without proper belief (‘aqidah) and knowledge (‘Ilm). This 15 week course is designed to give students an introductory understanding of Islamic beliefs by studying the Aqidah Tahawiyyah written by the fourth century jurist and hadith master, Imam Abu Ja'far Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Tahawiy (d.321/933). Students will learn the core beliefs of Islam while learning about the origins and development of Islamic theology. The course will also include a brief study of heretical sects that opposed the Quran and the Sunnah.

In today's modern day and age, with numerous trials and tribulations, we recall the prophetic advice; he the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I have left you with two matters which will never lead you astray, as long as you hold to them: the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of his Prophet."[Al-Muwaṭṭa' 1661]
Holding onto the prophetic sunnah and adhering to an Islamic lifestyle is an everyday struggle. The only way we can accomplish this is by studying and emulating the words of the perfect human being that Allah created: Prophet Muhammad S.A.W.
Pickering Islamic Centre presents a four-month course on Arbaeen of Imam Nawawi, an unparalleled compilation of Forty Hadith by Imam Nawawi R.A., one of the most widely accepted scholars in Islamic history, to help us adhere to an Islamic lifestyle. This course aims to explain the essence of Prophetic wisdom and guidance gathered in Imam Nawawi's Forty Hadiths. This course will strengthen one's religious knowledge, improve your love for the Beloved Prophet, and clarify how one can embody his wisdom.
About The Book:
Imam Nawawi (R.A) complied the Arba'een in an attempt to be inclusive of the fundamentals of the religion, asceticism, conduct, speeches, and more. The goal is that each ḥadīth would be a great precept from those of the faith – one that scholars had described as having Islam revolve around it or half of Islam or a third of it and the like. Imam Nawawi (May Allah Mercy be Upon Him) commits to these ahadith being authentic, as most of them are [found] within the two Ṣaḥeeḥs of al-Bukhāri and Muslim.
