Visiting the Sick

Visiting the sick has always been an integral part of Islamic community life. In fact, it is reported by Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (upon whom be peace) said, “Every Muslim had five rights over another Muslim: to return the greetings, to VISIT THE SICK, to accompany funeral processions, to accept an invitation, to respond to the one who sneezes.”  [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

As our community grows and our lives become increasingly busy, many times we are not in touch with each other as often as we would like. This can lead to us not being aware of the condition of our brothers and sisters; sometimes we find out after the fact that someone has been ill for several months and we didn’t know!

To help address this need, the Pickering Islamic Centre has initiated a ‎system by which those who are sick can inform the Centre, and anyone can sign up to visit the sick in an organized manner. Please follow the links below to sign-up for either category.
