Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Assalāmu’alikum!
We pray that all of you are safe. As we continue to do our part in trying to flatten the COVID-19 curve, not having the opportunity to pray together and unite in the house of Allah has left a spiritual and social void; but do not despair! Social distancing does not have to mean social isolation. Thus, Pickering Islamic Centre is up and running online to help you connect with your community, and to help you meet your educational and spiritual needs.
Alhamdulillah, our education board, with support from the hardworking teaching staff and amazing parents, have initiated virtual online learning for all our schools, including:
In addition, the following adult education programs have also resumed online:
In lieu of weekly Jummah sermons, our Mufti Abdulmannan has been broadcasting Jummah live reminders online every Friday starting at 1:15 PM. He has also resumed the weekly Seerah Halaqa online every Thursday evening.
Inshallah we hope to launch the following programs in the upcoming weeks:

We recognize that the current circumstances have an effect on each and every one of us, whether that’s through financial needs, emotional bearing, or physical health and we wish to appreciate your efforts in caring for each other. We have seen in the past few weeks how our community has come together to ensure the safety of our most vulnerable as well as help others in adjusting to this new change.
The choices that we make together as a community, including our individual behaviors, will define the impact of this crisis. For this reason, we are counting on our community to also keep the long-term well-being of their center in mind. The only way we are able to keep our masjids running and provide these programs and essential services is through your help! We are grateful for your generosity over the years and ask that you continue your financial support.

Let’s get through this together healthier and more united than before, Inshallah!
