Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Assalāmu’alikum wa rehmatullahi wa barakatuhu

Following strong recommendations and directives from all levels of government and public health officials, the PIC management, has been left with no choice but to suspend ALL CONGREGATIONAL PRAYERS for the public at Masjid Usman until further notice.  This includes the five daily prayers and Jumuah Salah.  However, to fulfill the rights of the Masjid and to maintain its sanctity, the management has appointed an Imam and 3 musallis to perform the 5 daily prayers and jumuah salah.

We urge the community to conduct small congregations for daily salah and jumuah in their homes and workplaces while safe to do so.

This heartbreaking decision was made upon consultation with our resident religious scholars.

Furthermore, all on site educational and social activities (including all schools, weekly halaqas and classes) have also been suspended. Online alternatives will soon be offered bi-idhni’Llah.

Take note that PIC will continue to offer Funeral and Burial services, but with certain restrictions due to the present circumstances.  Please call or email PIC for more information. (contact information available below)

We appreciate the understanding and support of the members of our community.  We humbly request that you continue to pray for the alleviation of this calamity.

We ask Allah 'azza wa jall to forgive us for our shortcomings and for any decisions that may incur His displeasure. Ameen.

Our centre will be available for limited contact at the following:

Administration: 905-426-7887

Funeral Services: 289-980-1157

Jazak’Allah u Khair.

In light of the growing number of COVID-19 cases locally and across the globe, the PIC management has made a difficult and painful decision to suspend Jummah Salah at Masjid Usman until further notice.  This is in addition to the earlier decision of suspending all educational and social activities, including all schools run under PIC, weekly halaqas and duroos.

For now, Masjid Usman will continue to offer the five daily prayers, but with strict enforcement of following precautionary measures:

  • Masjid to be open for Obligatory prayers only.  As such, Centre to be unlocked 15 minutes prior to iqama time and to be locked right after salah.
  • Attendees are requested to leave the premises after fardh salah and complete their sunnah/nawafils at home.
  • Attendance to be limited to those upon whom Congregational prayers are preferred.  Children who are not of age, and elderly who may have weaker immune system should avoid attending the mosque.
  • Any physical contact, including handshaking or hugging should be temporarily avoided.
  • Anyone displaying flu-like symptoms, excessive coughing or any illness are requested to stay home.
  • For those who have recently traveled outside of Canada, we ask that you avoid attending the mosque for 14 days.
  • Attendees are encouraged to make wudu at home prior to entering the mosque.
  • Attendees to be encouraged to bring their own prayer mats.

We understand and appreciate that it is very difficult for many to stay away from the mosque.  We ask that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala accept our intention and reward us with the same reward of praying in the mosque.

Once again, this was a very difficult decision for the management.  We ask Allah 'azza wa jall to forgive us for our shortcomings and for any decisions that may incur His displeasure.

Ameen.

Jazak’Allah u Khair.

Dear Brothers and Sisters

Assalāmu’alikum wa rehmatullahi wa barakatuhu

As you know, the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic, which is a call for action – for everyone everywhere.

Alhamdulillah, in response to the situation, PIC has taken following steps in ensuring safety of our community.

  • Trying our best to create awareness, as well as, educate our staff and volunteers to support the measures being taken
  • Providing Hand Sanitizers and Information posters within our facility
  • Frequently cleaning and sanitizing the Centre
  • Posted relevant signs for guidance and implementation
  • Continuously monitoring related updates by authorities for any action required
  • Keeping the community informed through our website, email, posted signs within the Masjid, and through Khutbahs and Halaqas

Although we are doing our best, we can not be successful in limiting the spread of virus without the willful cooperation and help of the congregants. We, therefore, ask you to do the following:

  • Continue to visit our website www.masjid.ca for updates
  • Make wudu at home or at work prior to coming to the centre
  • Use hand sanitizers and make sure you wash hands frequently
  • Bring your own prayer mat with you, if you can
  • Limit physical contact with other attendees.  This include hugging and shaking hands.
  • Cover your face with sleeves before sneezing
  • Avoid attending congregational prayers if you have flu like symptoms or if you have recently travelled outside Canada
  • Elderly people with weaker immune system should avoid being in public at this time
  • Encourage everyone to give Sadaqah, feed the poor, pray nafl, and recite Quran frequently
  • Please connect with Allah SWT through immense prayers and duas in these difficult times!

May Allah SWT save us all.

Jazak Allah.
