Statement from Tony Prevedel, Chief Administrative Officer

“Following the Province of Ontario’s order to close publicly funded schools until April 5, 2020, the City of Pickering will be supporting the government’s efforts to curtail the spread of COVID-19 by taking preventative measures such as public facility closures, and program and event cancellations. While there are no cases of COVID-19 in Pickering, we feel strongly about aligning efforts across Durham Region and the Province of Ontario to keep our residents and the greater community safe.”

Status update on City operations and programming: All public City facilities, with the exception of Pickering City Hall, will be closed as of 4:30 pm on March 13, 2020 until April 5, 2020 (inclusive).
